Hallmark of Quality

Since 2002, we have been a member of Conference Centres of Excellence, a marketing consortium of dedicated conference and training centres. It provides a standard of quality on which businesses can rely.

The consortium is unique among voluntary associations of venues, because membership depends on very exacting criteria. A rigorous programme of assessment and inspection ensures that every member meets the conference sector’s highest standards. All 40-plus member venues are checked on a regular basis and participate in an independent quality assurance programme, Venue Verdict, managed by BDRC continental.

Nick Akerman, our Head of Sales, is himself a consortium board member. “Conference Centres of Excellence provides us with a way of benchmarking our business,“ says Nick. “We appreciate the professional support and the guarantee of quality membership brings. Our staff are able to go on study tours to see some of the best conference operators in the country and return enthused with new ideas.

“We also attended the first annual Conference Centres of Excellence conference in 2011. This event brought industry colleagues together under one roof for some really useful networking, keynote speeches and learning sessions. It brought us up to speed with developments and trends in our sector.”

Conference Centres of Excellence’s purpose is to represent specialist conference centres at the top end of the meetings sector, providing excellent quality events, in a dedicated environment, at all inclusive rates. Its standards of quality comprehensively embrace facilities, staff and service and are the highest in the specialist venue sector.
