Destination Worcestershire
A strategic partnership
Destination Worcestershire is the official tourism partnership for businesses in the county. It is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to develop and promote the county to domestic and international markets. All money raised goes backinto promoting the county as a tourism destination.
Now part of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, Destination Worcestershire offers marketing, networking, promotion and training, a tourism website – www.visitworcestershire.org – and a programme of awards. Membership is open to all tourism businesses in the region.
In 2011, we won the Worcestershire Welcome award for Business Tourism, an accolade based on customer nominations, a shortlist and a judge’s commendation. Bill Munn, HR Director at construction company Thomas Vale, judged our category, praising our outstanding customer service. This award entitles us to go on to the national VisitEngland tourism awards in 2012.
Cotswold Conference Centre was recently asked by Destination Worcestershire to participate in its training DVD on Sustainable Tourism. Marketing Manager Debbie Sarjant was interviewed about our wide range of environmental measures and commitments.
“We are delighted to be featured on the DVD, which will be used for training other tourism businesses,” says Debbie. “We were able to demonstrate lots of green initiatives, from significant investment in renewable energy sources, to online marketing, which is inexpensive and helps to spread the environmental message.”
“We are delighted to have Cotswold Conference Centre on board as a Strategic Member. We look forward to continue our partnership with their professional team in supporting the further development of this outstanding venue and multi award-winning business!”
