Graduate Recruitment and Assessment

First Impressions

One possibility is to use Cotswold Conference Centre as an Assessment Centre for graduates and prospective employees. This allows you to operate an extended selection programme, lasting one or two days, or even longer. It is an invaluable way to sift through large amounts of applicants. Using a dedicated conference centre in an inspiring location also sets the right business tone for your new recruits.

Usually, assessment follows the first round of interviews and leads up to final selection, but it may also be used as an initial selection process for a new graduate intake. In our experience, a typical Assessment Centre event will need:

* Social/informal time, meet and greet, including candidates, assessors, recent graduates and senior management. This is an excellent opportunity for attendees to find out about the organisation and to ask questions in an informal setting. One of our experiential ‘Eye-Opener’ activities makes a great ice-breaker.

* A range of dining options to suit the occasion. Our patio is ideal for an informal BBQ and helps to relax the atmosphere.

* A large plenary room for information sessions, to provide more detail about the organisation and the roles available.

* Quiet, private rooms for tests and exercises designed to reveal applicants’ potential. Clients often use products like Belbin Team Roles and SHL’s OPQ questionnaires & tests.

Syndicate rooms and classroom layout can be provided.

If you would like to discuss running an assessment centre at CCC, please contact Rachael Buttery on 0845 230 8580.

“If you believe that first impressions count and are lasting, the right environment for the graduate intake and development programme of any business is key to its future culture and success. It makes sense that if new recruits enjoy a lavish hotel environment for their assessment and induction, or suffer a basement at Head Office with no natural daylight, long-term expectations are made about the organisation’s culture. We aim to provide the perfect balance: a dedicated work ethic in an inspirational environment.” Head of Sales, Nick Akerman
