A Trainer’s View
All kinds of training
Most of the training work undertaken at Cotswold Conference Centre is what we loosely call personal development. This may include:
Management and Leadership Training: introducing leadership skills to new managers, helping staff make the transition from expert to manager and training personnel in all levels of management, team-building and leadership.
Career-specific training: eg. Sales, Finance, Business Continuity, Project Management and Action Safety.
Useful workplace tools: companies come to us to learn about Health and Happiness at Work. NLP, conflict Management and Problem Solving. It’s amazing what goes on around here…
Creative Training: Training can take many different forms, for instance, using drama-based exercises, the principles of improvisation or role-play simulations using actors. The possibilities are endless.
Keystone Training on Cotswold Conference Centre
Keystone Training, based in the West Midlands, takes pride in providing the right learning environment to enable business people and organisations to grow and develop. The business was started by Angela Loggie and has grown steadily to become a market leader in providing innovative leadership and development programmes for blue chip companies. Keystone brings a number of different clients to Cotswold Conference Centre.
“There is a lot of ground work and preparation to do with our bespoke programmes, so moving venue is not something we take lightly nor want to do regularly,” says Keystone Senior Training Consultant, Richard Sivers. “Following a web search in mid-2009, I was looking initially for five things.
“We needed a central location. I knew I didn’t want a hotel environment with a spa and other hotel-like distractions. A dedicated business learning environment was important with plenty of space. The setting had to be right too. Cotswold Conference Centre came to my attention on the search engines and looked good, actually very good – so I made contact.
“Right from the first moment I was particularly impressed with the professionalism of Rachael Buttery. Nothing was too much trouble. The pictures are good but when you get there you can’t help but stop and admire the view – it is a stunning location.
“The sixth thing I hadn’t put on my list (but I guess everyone expects) is ‘customer service’. I don’t know how they do it, but Cotswold Conference Centre actually delivers exceptional customer service – consistently. The people are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. The place is quite unique. When I ask for something, it happens! Everyone you come into contact with – from Reception to Housekeeping – are all keen to help make the event as successful as possible.
“Delegates have all loved the venue, particularly the food! More importantly, we are able to deliver successful development programmes, and long may this partnership continue. ”
